Match Attax Cards were first introduced at the beginning of the 2007/08 Barclays Premier League season. They replaced the very popular Shoot Out Cards which had re-ignited kids passion for football trading cards.
The Match Attax collection initially consisted of all 20 Premiership teams each one being made up of 16 Base Cards and 2 Star Players, in addition to these cards there were Man Of The Match Cards, and highly sought after Limited Edition Cards which could only be obtained for a limited time and from various sources such as newspapers, magazines etc. There were also various other items sold such as starter packs and collector tins |  | MATCH ATTAX EXTRA
These cards were first introduced in March 2008 as an add-on to the main Match Attax collection. They contained extra players from each team that had been signed during the Premier League January transfer window. The set had a new Binder, Club Captain Cards, Hat Trick Hero Cards, more Man Of The Match Cards and also more Limited Edition Cards to collect.
